Research and Development

Sheringham Primary National Teaching School Alliance is committed to improving outcomes for children through the use of evidence based practice. To this end our Professional Learning offers are underpinned by evidence based resources and research.

We also aim to encourage school staff to engage in action research projects to explore innovative ways of improving outcomes for children. There are a number of research activities currently underway in alliance schools including:

  • Staff from Sheringham Primary and other alliance schools are involved in action research projects through the Expansive Education Network led by professor Bill Lucas The teachers and leaders received fantastic training from Professor Bill Lucas, equipping them with the skills to move forward. The project was kindly organised by the Norfolk Primary Heads Association.
  • Teachers from St William’s Primary, Sheringham Primary and Ingoldisthorpe Primary will be taking part in an action research project exploring ‘academic bouyancy’. This is being led by Hilary Anderson.
  • Two teachers from St William’s Primary are undertaking Masters degrees in Research techniques.
  • Teachers from South Wootton Junior, Sheringham Primary and St William’s Primary are taking part in the ‘Connecting Classrooms’ project being run by the British Council.

More information and any findings from the above projects will be shared here as soon as we have them. Watch this space!
