Welcome to Robins!

Did you know...

  • Robins have approximately 2,900 feathers
  • They love eating worms (YUCK!)
  • They have a wing span of 20cm... That's longer than your pencil!

 1.7.13
This week at Sheringham Primary School
we have been celebrating multi-cultural week.

People from various places around the world have been in school to teach us about their country. We have also been busy learning songs and dances from different countries around the world.

Class 9 have been focusing on Greece and to say we have had a great time would be an understatement!

We hope you enjoy looking through the pictures and video footage of our fun-filled week.

Lorna and Hugo are in the
ROLL OF HONOUR
for trying their absolute best and behaving exceptionally well
in the Spring term.

Take a look at what we studied in Art in the Autumn term:

Mother Nature: Lesson 1.

Using magnifying glasses, we made careful observations of a number of natural objects. After talking about important elements of Art such as shape, line, colour and texture, we practised sketching a number of natural objects.

Mother Nature: Lesson 2.

We enlarged our favourite sketches and added even more detail to them.

Mother Nature: Lesson 3.

We created a background for our collage by tearing up pieces of sugar paper and sticking them on to a piece of card. Tearing the paper created a wonderful 'rough' effect. We made sure that we chose natural colours such as different shades of green, yellow, red, orange and brown

Mother Nature: Lesson 4.

We chose leaves that had fallen from a tree in the playground and used wax crayons to take rubbings of them. We loved the effect it made on the paper.

Mother Nature: Lesson 5.

With the help of a colour wheel, we discovered which colours compliment one another. We then drew a leaf on a polystyrene tile, used a roller to cover it with paint, and printed it on to contrasting coloured sugar paper.

Finally, we assembled our sketches, leaf rubbings and press print leaves until we were satisfied with our Autumn collages.

Here's a taster of some of the art work we produced...
