Cross Country

Holt Hall

More success in cross country with a medal winner in every race and everyone’s determination to finish as fast as they could enabled us to win the overall Team Trophy.

Race winners were: Yr4—LC, Yr5—JD & GP, Yr6—LS.

Gresham’s

An excellent event run by Greshams with over 35 schools taking part and each race having between 180—210 children running. All runners were brilliant and a special mention goes to the medal winners, GP in Yr5, BK in Yr5 and LC in Yr4.

11 boys and girls from Year 1 went to Holt Hall to compete in the Cross Country event. The children ran their socks off with brilliant results, coming in the top 20, we even had two firsts and two second places.

Girls Football

A massive well done to the year 5 & 6 Girls Football team for coming second in the National Girl’s Football Tournament held at Millfield North Walsham. They narrowly missed out on the Winner’s Trophy by losing in the final on penalties.

Boys Football

Under 9s Football Tournament - Congratulations to the Under 9s Football Team for winning their Partnership Tournament. The boys, plus MB, all played so well and were a privilege to take.

Under 10 Football winners, fantastic day of football in Stalham.

Amazing results from our first football games winning 15 - 0 against Astley and 12 –1 against Reepham. The team demonstrated great sportsmanship in both games. Well done to all. Keep up the good work.

Swimming

LB became the Under 9s Backstroke Champion, making her the best 50m girl backstroker in England for 9 year olds.

AG, LB, NC and GK represented North Norfolk in the School Games. All girls were excellent competitors and helped North Norfolk to secure the Bronze Medal.

Netball

Sheringham Netball Team is going really well and is continuing to improve. They travelled to Beeston Hall School to take part in their Inter School competition. After a hard fought battle, the team clinched the title. Well done boys and girls.

High 5 Netball tournament at the High School. Brilliant sportsmanship from all players. Great effort lead to a 3rd place victory.

Gymnastics

Congratulations go to LG who has been chosen to represent Norfolk - a great achievement.

Golf

Amazing skills in Tri-Golf awarded us with a 2nd place.

Tennis

8 children from Year 4 attended a Tennis Tournament at Cromer where we demonstrated some great skills, placing 6th overall.

Our PE instructors have produced a scheme of work containing high quality lesson plans for all staff to use which compliment lessons led by the instructors.

Minibuses are frequently used allowing children to attend sporting events and competitions.

The astro-turf is regularly maintained and used throughout the day for sporting activities in all weathers.

A variety of markings chosen by the school council have been added to the playground.

Sporting equipment has been replaced as needed to ensure children are able to use good quality resources.

2015 - 16

All children from Nursery to Year 6 benefit from high quality instruction from our two qualified PE Instructors.  Funding will allow for these instructors to provide training for staff in good practice, thus upskilling them. They will also oversee and organise school sports clubs as well as running sports competitions in school and with other schools and the school partnership. We also use the funding to produce schemes of work which support existing staff to reach PE more effectively showing clear progression.

We are proud to organise a wide range of extra curricular sporting clubs, before, during and after school. These include: netball, football, rugby, hockey, running, tennis, squash, circuit training and badminton.

Approx. £10,500 expected
