Hearing your child read at least three times a week will help your child to progress with their reading. Make sure you make a note in the book records when you have heard your child read so that we can give them a new book.
If you child finds a word tricky, help them to spot the 'friends' in the word before they sound it out. This is when two or more letters make one sound e.g. ch, igh, ng.
This clip shows you how to pronounce the sounds correctly to help your child when they are sounding out words when reading at home!
