Tag Rugby County Qualifiers Tuesday 18th October

Sheringham Tag Rugby team enjoyed an enthusiastic day out at Holt RFC to compete in the Norfolk County Tag Rugby qualifying competition. Despite a very wet start all of the children exuded determination and most importantly a desire to have fun and display sportsmanship.

The day was busy with eight games against other north Norfolk schools. I have to say that I was extremely proud of our children as we recorded four wins, one draw and three losses. We congratulate both Fakenham and Millfield who finished in first and second place respectively and now go on to compete in the county finals, we wish both teams well.

Each and every child made significant contributions to the team and despite having one extremely tough match, they maintained a positive approach until the very end.

I'm delighted to report that Holt RFC cited Sheringham school for a sportsmanship award when they recognised our whole team's sporting nature when an opponent became injured, this is very much to our children's credit.
