Artist in Residence: Kate Munro

Recently Kate has been working with each year group to produce a ‘sculpture trail’ around the school; look out for them if you visit! Each year group was inspired by an ‘out of school’ experience, for example Year Six went to the Sainsbury’s centre in Norwich and explored the permanent collection of masks and artefacts, Year Five travelled to the ‘Time and Tide’ museum in Great Yarmouth to get ideas from our local fishing heritage and Reception visited Sheringham Park collecting sketches and ideas from the world around them. Kate worked with each year group to create a sculpture based on their visit. She has been creative with her use of materials and recycled lots!

In the future, Kate will be working with Year Two and Three to finish the trail as well as helping us create some collaborative art work during our multicultural week in February.
